The Bali hotel wedding of
Liz & Luke
When I meet Liz & Luke a few days before their wedding here in Bali we immediately connected very well. Friendly, outgoing relaxed Australians. We went through the schedule of their Bali hotel wedding day and discussed their preferences in terms of photography and video for the day.
The couple got ready in different hotels, which fortunately were adjacent to each other so I could capture both, the grooms and his groom’s men predation as well as the preparations of the ladies…
Particularly the photos from the bride’s chamber were awesome because they all were in a cheerful mode and the light, unlike in many other hotel rooms was very supportive. Also the four bride’s maids looked magnificent.
Big kudos to Liz and Luke advising on their preferred direction of the altar and the guest’s seating. Usually Bali hotel wedding is set up there in such a way that the altar directly faces the beach front which on one side is less than optimal for photography as it means directly shooting into the light and on the other side also being less than ideal as the sun in the late afternoon can ‘hit’ the seated guests directly in the face. By turning the setup for 90 degrees they achieved a perfect visual composition and ensured comfort for their guests. Liz explained to me that orange is her favorite color and the orange flower décor made for a very nice contrast to the blue of the sky and the greenery. Also who could argue with orange ? 🙂
What followed was a photo session with the bridal party on the hotel’s grounds. In between I also had the opportunity to capture a few couple portraits as well. I feel that especially those photographs brilliantly convey the feelings of the both…
The reception dinner continued in the cheerful and relaxed mode of this wedding and in the following please find some highlight photographs of that evening.
I want to thank Liz and Luke from the bottom of my heart for giving me the opportunity to be part of this magnificent Bali hotel wedding at Mandira resort.
Should you have any questions about this wedding or want me to put you in touch with the wedding coordinator of that wedding who can realize such a dream wedding also for you please do not hesitate to drop me a line.
If you dear Reader also would like to have a wedding at Bali Mandira I recommend you check out the following Hotel Mandira wedding package.

UPDATE (22nd June – 2011) – I just received the following from Liz and Luke – thank you so much guys ! It is clients like you who make my job so rewarding and such a fulfillment.
Dominik, The photos you took of our wedding are AMAZING !! We absolutely love them. We proudly showed them to family & friends and many commented that this is the best in wedding photography they have seen outside of magazines so far. To be honest, we weren’t surprised. We loved looking at all the photos on your website and it was your creative photography style that Luke used to convince Liz to move our wedding to Bali.
But not only did you make our wedding look spectacular, your casual yet professional approach during the photo session after the ceremony meant that we never realised just how many photos you were taking! The directions you gave during the shoot were easy to follow and created such great shots.
The fact that we could chose the photos for our albums and also be involved in the layout and design is a big bonus for us too. We both look forward to coming back to see you for more great photos once our family grows.
Thank you so much for being our photographer!Liz & Luke
