This lovely couple from Shanghai – China contacted me on a very short notice. And because my schedule was pretty full for the period of their Bali visit I initially declined. But Xiao Xiao insisted very strongly for me to take her pre-wedding photographs and I was able to make space in my schedule.
She explained to me that the photo shoot should be a surprise for her husband. In fact the whole Bali trip was arranged without him knowing about it. Therefore I use term shanghai-ed. Which is describes of high-jacking’ someone for a trip.
This pre wedding photoshoot was also very unique in that sense that the bride briefed me that her parents were also to come with us – at least for some pictures. I welcomed this idea and we had lots of fun with her parents too. It was a great oportunity for me to also practice and hone my Chinese language skills. The weather was perfect and so were all other conditions for this fabulous pre-wedding shoot.
To add even more to this pre wedding photo shoot the couple also decided to have horses for one hour. And within this hour we managed to shoot on a beautiful beach and also among rice fields.
My set designer created some beautiful environment using traditional Balinese umbrellas. Much to the delight of the couple. I love the fact that more and more of my pre wedding photography clients are coming from China. And hope more brides will ‘shanghai’ their husbands for pre wedding photos in Bali.
In the following please see some of my personal favorites of this pre wedding photo shoot.
Makeup & hair styling was provided by ever so fabolous BALI MAKEUP AND HAIR.

Hi Dominik, I will be in Bali with my husband for 25th anniversary at Alila Uluwatu and Soori.
I am just wondering how much is the package for a photo session of 3 hours? Including make up and hairdo.
The trip is from 17-22 April.
Thanks,
Emy
